Restaurants

The wonderful thing about WDW is you can any and every kind of cuisine imaginable! And most restaurants are covered under the Disney Dining Plan. Tip: Before making a reservation, always check the latest Disney Dining Plan guide to make sure the restaurant you have chosen is covered under the Dining Plan. Also, reservations can be made 180 days in advance.

Please keep in mind the food establishments listed below are only the ones we have tried.

The other beauty of having such a variety of cuisine and a Disney Dining Plan is that you can eat at restaurants that you may not have thought of.

Any themed restaurant has the décor and uniforms that go with that theme.

Here are some quick descriptions/reviews of table service restaurants that we have dined at over the years. All of the restaurants we have dined at have been good.

Magic Kingdom:

  • Liberty Tree Tavern (Liberty Square) – Old Colonial food such as pot roast and turkey.
  • Crystal Palace – Character Dining with Winnie the Pooh and Friends. Buffet style
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table – Character Dining with Cinderella and the princesses (and occasionally a prince). Seated meal – you get a choice of about 4 options for your meal
  • Be Our Guest - Step inside the Beast’s enchanted castle for a delicious quick-service breakfast or lunch or a delightful sit-down dinner.
  • Aloha Isle - This is the go-to place for the traditional Dole Whip, and they are well worth it.
  • Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café - This is a quick-service eatery, they have you typical American style foods.
  • Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe - A great quick-service eatery, they have a variety of Mexican style foods.
  • Tortuga Tavern - Right by Pirates of the Caribean ride, this is a nice little quick-service eatery as well, they have American style foods to choose from.

EPCOT:

  • Coral Reef (Future World – Living Seas) – The atmosphere alone is worth it! As you sit in the dining room, you can gaze into the huge tank containing fish, turtles, and rays. There is a card on the table to help you identify the different animals.
  • Le Cellier Steakhouse (Canada Pavillon) – Reservations are a must! I had a $65 steak, which was absolutely delicious!
  • Nine Dragons Restaurant (China Pavillon) – Upscale Chinese food.
  • La Hacienda de San Angel (Mexico Pavillon) - This is a nice Table service restaurant, Mexican themed and food. If you book your reservations at the right time of night you can catch the Epcot nighttime show while you eat.
  • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall -  This is another character dining experience, you get to meet the Disney Princesses while you eat. it's a good mix of American and Norweigan style food.

Hollywood Studios:

  • 50’s Prime Time Café – When you walk into this restaurant you feel like you are walking into your grandmother’s house! Everything is decorated in 50’s style and they have clips of old black & white 50’s sitcoms playing on old TVs in each dining area. The waiter/waitress will make you set your place at the table, makes sure you washed your hands and makes you keep your elbows off the table!! And the dessert menu is on a View Finder!
  • Hollywood and Vine – Buffet with the Disney Jr characters. During Star Wars weekends, character dinner with Mickey as Luke Skywalker, Minnie as Princess Leia, Donald as a stormtrooper, and Goofy as Vader
  • Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – Wonderful Italian food!
  • Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre – You walk into the dining area and it is set up like an old school drive-in. The tables are cars and are pointed towards a drive-in screen playing scenes from cheesy Science Fiction movies. This is also where they have a Star Wars breakfast with Darth Vader and Boba Fett during Star Wars weekends in May and June
  • ABC Commissary - This is a great quick service place to eat, they have lots of choices for your dining experience, it is American style cuisine.
  • The Hollywood Brown Derby - This is a fine/signature dining experience, it's American style cuisine. We ate here with the help of the Dining Plan. They have some very good food here if you can afford it or have the Dining Plan we highly recommend eating here.
  • Backlot Express -  This quick-service restaurant is where you eat if you happen to take the Star Wars tour at Hollywood Studios. This is your typical American style eater, and the food is good. If you happen to be there as part of the Star Wars Tour, then you can expect to be harassed while eating by Stormtroopers.
  • Woody's Lunch Box - Now when you are in Toy Story Land, this is a place we recommend to try, they have some very unique food options. American style eatery with a twist. For example, they have "Totchos - Potato Barrels coated with Beef and Bean Chili, Shredded Cheese and signature Queso with Tomatoes and Corn Chips finished with Sour Cream and a sprinkle of Green Onions" I tried these on one of our trips, and delicious I recommend them.
  • Oga's Cantina - While in Galaxy's Edge make sure to swing by Oga's, now we didn't get a chance to have any of the food here, but we did manage to get in for some drinks, they have a great selection of alcohol and non-acholic drinks to choose from. We are pretty sure the food is rather good as well from what we have heard. It is definitely worth stopping in to check out the atmosphere and see the beloved DJ-R3X rocking away.

 Animal Kingdom:

  • Tusker House – Wonderful buffet that includes American classics as well as African inspired dishes. Both breakfast and lunch are character dining with Mickey and Friends
  • Flame Tree Barbecue - This is a great quick service place for some excellent barbecue. This is our go-to for quick service in Animal Kingdom. We strongly suggest giving this place a try if you like BBQ.

Downtown Disney:

  • Planet Hollywood – After you eat, you can enjoy walking around and viewing different movie props and costumes from different movies
  • Raglan Road Irish Pub and restaurant – Irish food and Irish beer. Occasionally they have live Irish music as well
  • Rainforest Café – Feel like you are eating in the jungle with animatronic animals in every section. Every 20 minutes there is a rainstorm, but don’t worry, you won’t get wet. You will hear the thunder and see the lights flashing as if it were lightening
  • T-REX – Similar to Rainforest Café except with dinosaurs! If you are or you have a dinosaur lover, you must eat here!! Animatronic dinosaurs with cards that have a brief description of that dinosaur. Every 20 minutes there is a meteor shower (like Rainforest Café with their rainstorm) Definitely make reservations! If not, the wait times are ridiculous!
  • Earl Of Sandwich - If you are in the mood for some good ole Soup or sandwiches, then this is the place to try just good ole American style food.
  • Wolfgang Puck® Express - This quick-service restaurant has some delicious food and large portions of American style food. One time I ordered the chicken caesar salad, and what I got was a salad that could have been eaten as a dinner meal, and it was incredible. We definitely recommend this establishment.
  • STK Orlando -  Now if you are in the mood for some fine dining of Steak, Seafood, or other American eats, then we highly recommend STK. We had the pleasure of trying this place a couple years ago, we had gotten steaks that are just mouth-watering delicious. Just remember this is a fine dining establishment and everything is a-la-cart, but if you have the dining plan or the money to eat here, it's strongly recommended.
  • Paradiso 37, Taste of the Americas - Now this will be the first negative review of a restaurant on this list. We had gone to try this place out with some friends, we made reservations, yet still managed to wait over 2 hours past our reservation time before getting seated. From there it just got worse, the food was average, and the service, in general, was very poor. We even ran into servers that attempted to lie to the manager when complaints were made. We do not recommend this place at all! It was a bad experience that has left a real bad taste in our mouths.
  • Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC -  Now if you are in the mood for some extremely well-made treats and desserts, then Erin McKenna's is the place to go. I don't think we have ever seen a time this place doesn't have people inside ordering something good to eat. This is my wife's favorite place to get desserts, and I have to agree with her choice. We stop here every time we are at Disney Springs. Oh, and did I mention EVERYTHING is Gluten-free, not that you would be able to tell when you have these tasty treats.

Also, menus are always available online so you can see if the food options are something that you would like. If you go to https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/ and select a restaurant link, there is a link to the right that says "Show Menu". At the top of the menu page, you can select which meal menu you would like to view (breakfast, lunch, or dinner)
