Disney Dining Plan

*UPDATE* 12-01-2020
Due To COVID Disney is no longer offering the Dining Plan

We highly recommend getting the dining plan! It will add to the cost upfront of your package but you are literally prepaying for your food! We always get the regular dining plan (Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining) which consists of 2 snacks, 1 counter service, and 1 table service per person per night's stay. For each meal, you get a non-alcoholic or alcoholic (21+) drink, an entrée, and dessert. And you can order any entrée on the menu, seriously any entree, my wife got a $65 Rib-Eye steak one night just cause she could. It is really worth it, and in the long run, you do save money, a quick dollar comparison for you, in 2008 we kept all our receipts and totaled it up when we got back, we figured out it was about $500 for the dining plan, yet we ate about $800 worth of food, you do the math and tell me if it's worth it. The only drawback is to get the dining plan you have to stay on Disney property and get the Magic Your Way package, granted we don't consider those drawbacks.

There are a few different options depending on your budget and preferences. There is a quick service only dining plan, the regular dining plan as well as a deluxe, premium. Below are the links to the different dining plans and what they offer. Please keep in mind these links are a couple years old, so please do the research on https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ to make sure you have the most up to date information, this will give you a good understanding and starting point.

How Disney Dining Plans Work

  • You need to have booked your trip and be staying on Disney Property to be able to get the Dining Plan.
  • Once the trip is booked you will have starting 180 days prior to your check-in date, the ability to book your reservations. We highly recommend doing this at the 180-day mark, it helps with getting those hard to get reservations like Be Our Guest or Cinderella's Royal Table.
  • Track your meals with the easy-to-read receipt your server will provide you, which displays your remaining meal balance.
  • Redeem your meals in any order throughout your package stay until each person's meal total is complete.
  • Some reservations might require 2 table service credits, if you plan your other meals correctly you won't really miss anything as far as meals go.

For your table service meals, I highly recommend making reservations as most restaurants fill up quick, especially character dining. You can eat at pretty much any restaurant within WDW including character dining. There is a brochure you can download that lists the restaurants for each dining plan. ( Disney Dining Plan Information )

You can also use 2 table service credits towards a dinner show, signature restaurants, or other special dining experiences.

With the dining plan, you get a reusable mug to use at any WDW resort. The reusable mug can be used for all you can drink: fountain soda/beverages, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
